Dr. Stephanie Swensen Buza is an Assistant Attending Orthopedic Surgeon at HSS and a Clinical Instructor at Weill Cornell Medical College. She specializes in sports injuries of the hip, knee, and shoulder and is part of the Sports Medicine Institute and the Hip Preservation Service at HSS.

Prior to joining HSS, Dr. Buza graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fordham University and earned her medical degree from NYU School of Medicine. She attended the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, where she served as Executive Chief Resident. Dr. Buza completed her Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery Fellowship at HSS. She then pursued an additional year of specialized fellowship training in Hip Preservation at HSS, focusing on hip arthroscopy and open hip preservation procedures.

As a former classically trained ballet dancer, Dr. Buza also has a special interest in performing arts and dance medicine.
